What are your plans during your stay in Jakarta? Well, one activity that should not be overlooked for the tourists and expatriates are enjoying the culinary challenge offered by this Asia megapolitan city. Jakarta has restaurants, cafes, and lounges in both large and small size, local and international, in countless numbers and spread all over the city. But here I will only describe four of them.


Urban Kitchen Restaurant

Urban Kitchen Restaurant is the only restaurant in Indonesia which has a boutique food court concept with 12 outlets from different countries and 3 bars: beverage and juice bars, ice cream bars, and coffee bar, with seating capacity of 450 diners. The dining concept were chosen by the Urban Kitchen Restaurant to avoid confusion over the vast number of a selection of dishes available. To maintain the original flavor and quality of food, every kitchen in the Urban Kitchen Restaurant is served directly by specialist chefs from each country.

Sentra Kelapa Gading

Sentra Kelapa Gading is located at Kelapa Gading Boulevard, North Jakarta. It is in Jakarta’s elite area, built consisting of three locations, namely Mal Kelapa Gading, La Piazza, and Gading Food City. Food courts located in the Sentra Kelapa Gading has several different concepts which you can choose according to your taste:

  • Gading Food City and La Piazza; made ​​up of several cafes and restaurants with outdoor atmosphere and entertainment in the form of live performance.
  • Food Temptation; a large food court which has a capacity of 2000 seats which offers local and international menus.
  • Gourmet Walk Zone; cafes and restaurants offering Asian and European menu.

Marché Restaurant

Marché is a Swiss restaurant with a capacity of 430 diners, which have the concept of a farm with the feel of the Swiss countryside on the slopes of the Alps, complete with servings of European fresh fruits and fresh vegetables. To reinforce the impression of a mountain village of Europe, Marché restaurant interior complete with a miniature waterfall and install the cable car.

Following Marché’s tradition, diners can choose a wide variety of typical European country fresh dishes to offer, covering a variety of fresh salads, Caesar salads, various meat and chicken pieces that are traditionally baked with firewood, house-made pastas and pizzas baked with firewood, Switzerland Rôsti , savoury crepes, variety of desserts in the form of waffles, ice cream and Mövenpick coffee, fresh lemon juice hand, natural tea, hot chocolate, and more.

Cilandak Town Square (Citos)

Cilandak Town Square, or more popularly known Citos is actually a shopping mall and entertainment center located on Jl. TB. Simatupang, South Jakarta. However Cilandak Town Square better known as food court because most of the existing tenants are restaurants, cafes, and lounge that offers a variety of culinary form traditional menus to modern, international menus. Cilandak Town Square food court featuring a huge hall with rows of restaurants and cafes, provide space for visitors to eat dishes while enjoy the urban atmosphere of the place.
